In this Christian teaching, Ian Andrews brings guidance that gets to the root of why many of us have problems with relating to other people and to God as father. Few people go through life without experiencing the pain of being rejected by work colleagues, friends or family. Some can shrug this rejection off, saying to themselves 'You can't be popular with everyone.', whilst a lot of us wonder 'Can I be popular with anyone?' When painful rejection is not dealt with in an effective way, it will start to control us and distort the way we feel, think and react to circumstances and people. Ian Andrews helps us in this message to understand God's effective divine healing process for rejection by looking at Jesus Christ, who experienced the ultimate rejection from both those around Him and His father in heaven, but never once yielded to rejection's control. Ian Andrews's sermon also takes us to the Garden of Eden where he walks us through Adam and Eve's time there, and discusses the reasons why they were excluded from the garden. Through an understanding of this Biblical passage, Ian Andrews identifies in his teaching the true source of our rejection and guides and directs us to the only true source of information about our value and self-worth so we can be set free from rejection's painful effects on our lives. We are shown in the sermon how fear causes us to reject other people and God, how remorse does not bring us into forgiveness, how rejected people hide themselves behind metaphorical 'fig leaves', and how rejection results in a very effective negative faith working against us. We all need to know and feel a measure of love, acceptance, and recognition from other people so we can both give to them and receive love from them. With a rejected person, this all breaks down and the person can become dysfunctional. The spirit of rejection has been described as a python spirit because the evil spirit attempts to squeeze the life out of a person so they are unable tto function properly in relationships. Andrews provides clear guidance to help us understand God's effective way of us becoming free from the controlling and devastating effects of rejection in our lives. We will never be able to stop people rejecting us, Jesus Christ didn't, but we can be sure that any rejection we experience will not cause us damage and stop us fulfilling our potential for success and fulfilment on this earth.
